Based in Stamford, Lincolnshire, MacTasks develops bespoke cross-platform databases for Mac and PC using Real Studio. We have over 25 years experience of software management, development, quality assurance and support, and have provided databases for publishing companies and the voluntary sector.

Our Databases

Our flagship database, VCS Tracker, the database for the voluntary services sector, is developed in partnership with Voluntary Action LeicesterShire and is used by organisations in Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Lincolnshire. VCS Tracker is a powerful tool that allows you to monitor, analyse and connect with your local voluntary and community sector. It features flexible reporting and activity tracking, as well as an intelligent mailing system that helps you to accurately target your communications with groups. All your work is recorded making it easier than ever to prove your impact to funders.

Orange Rooms is a room and facilities booking system. Currently used by the Orange Rooms, Leicester, part of Voluntary Action LeicesterShire, it manages the rooms and facilities for all their client conferences and smaller events.

WSPP Database records the information and allows enquiries for the Children's Workforce Development Project at Voluntary Action LeicesterShire. See the Latest News page for an interesting news item on how successfully it has been used.

Next Issue is an advertisement sales database. In use by BPG Media, a publisher of national magazines and specialist web sites, it co-ordinates the workflow of advertisement sales, production and accounts teams, providing management vital information regarding print and web-based advertisement sales.

Eric Gibbon, Director

Eric acquired his Honours Degree in Computer Science in 1986. For 15 years he progressed his career working for international IT services company Unisys, for financial services companies the Leamington Spa Building Society and the Norwich and Peterborough Building Society, and then as a freelance analyst/programmer at the IT centres of the Halifax and Alliance & Leicester.

In 2002 Eric set up MacTasks Limited to provide database development, training and support services to companies in the East Midlands and to provide IT consultancy to companies and professional individuals in the Stamford/Peterborough area.

Eric

Eric has performed different roles in many successful IT projects, from analysis of the initial requirement through development and quality assurance to staff training and technical implementation. He has successfully managed projects from their initial stages through to completion. He has also developed software which has been used by staff from NASA and Yahoo, among many other creative organisations.

Eric understands the need to fulfil requirements in a cost-effective manner. He believes in forming long-term working relationships, and that providing quality software and support services at a decent price is a vital part of this.

Eric has used Real Studio for database development since the late 1990s. He is an active member of the Real Studio UK User Group and has arranged and presented at Real Studio events in the UK.

Married to Penny, and father to Nicholas and Christopher, Eric lives in Stamford, Lincolnshire.
